1. Why This Matters – Due to rising tensions and cyber activity linked to the Israel–Iran conflict, security experts warn that healthcare and home care providers are increasingly targeted by cybercriminals. Threats include: • Phishing emails designed to steal passwords. • Ransomware attacks locking or destroying patient data. • Fraudulent payment instructions. As a healthcare provider, we have a duty to protect sensitive client information, maintain trust, and ensure service continuity. Please Initial your acknowledgement.

2. Your Responsibilities as a Sara Companions Employee – All staff must take these critical precautions right now: Be alert for suspicious emails or messages: • Do not click on unexpected links or attachments. • Verify any request for client data or payment details—call first. • Report suspicious emails immediately. Use strong, secure passwords: • Never share your passwords with anyone. • Change weak or reused passwords. • Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) where required. Secure your work devices: • Lock your computer or tablet when unattended. • Keep antivirus software up to date. • Only use agency-approved systems for client records or scheduling. Protect client data: • Never save client details to personal devices or email accounts. • Always follow Sara Companions policies for charting and documentation. Please initial acknowledgement.

3. Sara Companions Agency Response Plan (General) We want you to know how the agency is responding: • Heightened Monitoring: Our IT support team is watching for unusual activity. • System Updates: We are ensuring all systems and software are current and secure. • Backup Protection: Client records and essential systems are backed up securely. • Staff Training: Additional cybersecurity training may be assigned. 4. Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan (What to Do) – If you see or suspect anything unusual, you must act immediately: Report It Immediately: • Call or email Mr. White and Fortune • Include details (email, device behavior, what you clicked, etc.). Contain It: • Stop using the affected device. • Disconnect it from Wi-Fi if instructed. • Don’t attempt to fix it yourself. Cooperate Fully: • Our team will investigate, contain, and recover. • You may be asked questions about your recent activity. Confidentiality: • Do not discuss cybersecurity incidents with clients, vendors, or on social media. • Only agency leadership will handle external communications about any incident. Please initial.
